Skillet Pumpkin Sauce – Thai Coconut flavor (review)

June 21, 2012 By Debra Pearlstein 22 Comments

Skillet Pumpkin Sauce is the newest addition to the Skillet line. Their pumpkin ketchups have a unique flavor and a good nutritional profile that comes from vitamins and minerals naturally found in pumpkin.

The Skillet Pumpkin Sauce comes in three flavors: Thai Coconut, Chipotle, and Apple Vinegar Brown Sugar

I sampled the Thai Coconut which had a nice, rich, though not overwhelming, coconut flavor along with Asian spices, pumpkin and curry.

I thought that I’d try it out with a stir-fry since this is one of my go to dishes, espcially when I don’t have a large amount of time. I cooked up some jasmine rice, then stir-fried it with zucchini, onions, carrots, mushrooms and celery. I feel that it had a nice Thai-food like flavor and I would use it again as a variation on the basic stir-fry. I also used it as a dipping sauce for Spring Rolls and enjoyed the combination.

You can check out all their products at Skillet or email them with any inquiries at eat@skilletstreetfood.com.

And, if you’re in Seattle, you can check out their diner which has delicious items like maple braised pork belly and waffles with a fried egg on top, as well as burgers with bacon jam, arugula, bleu/brie on brioche with hand cut fries.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
