Goat Milk Stuff – The Stuff that Dreams are made of

April 11, 2012 By Debra Pearlstein 62 Comments

Two of my favorite things in the world are homemade soaps and goat’s milk. I love homemade soaps because they often contain natural ingredients and have interesting shapes and scents. As far as the goat’s milk, well, when I was a baby I was allergic to regular milk. Given goat’s milk instead, perhaps that’s where my affinity began. I love goat’s milk yogurt, goat’s milk cheese and I am especially wild about Goat Milk Stuff soaps.
This is also one of the coolest businesses I have seen. Completely family-run by PJ, Jim, and their 8 children in Southeastern Indiana, everyone has a part in the process. Made from goats on their farm, you can be assured their products are pure and of the highest quality.  They treat their small Alpine goat herd with lots of love and care. They are not fed any antibiotics or growth hormones, so there is nothing unnatural passed into their milk. In fact, PJ started the business because she didn’t want harsh chemicals on her childrens’ skin.
Here’s a video which aired on PBS – I love it!

From the Jonases:  As our goats might say, our goat milk soaps contain nothing Baah-d. Ever. We use only natural fats and oils. The colors are all natural too, never from dyes or synthetic colors and we only use high quality essential or fragrance oils to scent our goat milk soaps.

I love that you can feel really good about using them on your family and your little ones.

Their natural goat milk soap is wonderful for all skin types and safe for babies. Many customers with dry skin, sensitive skin, eczema, psoriasis, acne, or rosacea report that the goat milk soaps have given them the first relief they’ve had in years.

I got the most wonderful package in the mail from Goat Milk Stuff. Knowing that everyone in their family had a hand in it made it that much sweeter. Not to mention that it smelled incredible! I’m sure more than one mail carrier was wondering where that wonderful smell was coming from.
My package contained 3 full-size bars of soap, 2 half bars of soap, 3 sample soaps, and a lip balm. You can purchase either, which is great if you want to try out a bunch. Each soap was individually wrapped in a gorgeous muslin bag.  My choices were: Black Raspberry, Fiji Island, Kool Koala Essential Oil, Oatmeal Milk & Honey and Evergreen Seasonal Soap. My samples were Mimosa Mandarin, Ocean and Ginger Lime.  For my lip balm, I chose lime. I love citrus and loved the taste and scent.
There are so many wonderful choices including  Chocolate Seasonal Soap, Clean Cotton, Cranberry Spice, Honeysuckle, Jewelweed for Poison Ivy, Lavender, Lemongrass, Lilac and Pomegranate Lemonade. There is Purity for for those with extremely sensitive skin or those who are sensitive to fragrances with  no added fragrances or colors. It’s just plain, good for your skin, goat milk soap! Great for babies or people with eczema.

Just look at this beautiful array of colors in the bars of soap. And, yes, you get a really good-sized bar at a very reasonable price.

To pamper your skin even more, Goat Milk Stuff has luxurious lip balms, lotion sticks, and bath bombs. They also have natural goat milk laundry products. The lip balms come in lime, vanilla and black cherry among other flavors and are very moisturizing and smooth.

You can also check out their gift sets here for wonderful thoughtful presents good anytime.

I started using these soaps as soon as I received them, which was amazingly fast – great customer service by the way. I have been hooked on body wash for quite a while, so I wasn’t sure how the shift back to bar soap would be, but it was amazing. I loved the feel of the goat milk soaps on my skin, so smooth and so comforting. They lathered up really well and I loved the subtle scents which healed and relaxed me.

They left my skin very hydrated and very soft and with a light scent that was very natural. I couldn’t wait for my next shower to try the next one, yes, really, I loved them that much. I am already lookiing forward to trying more scents when I finish with these, though they do last for a good long time.
Black raspberry smelled like fresh berries with a touch of vanilla.
Fiji Island was like a trip to the tropics with coconut, lime, and lemon verbena. Light and soothing.
The Kool Koala with essential oils of eucalyptus, peppermint, and spearmint was refreshing and I loved just breathing it in.
The Oatmeal Milk and Honey was very soothing, and my favorite was the Evergreen. I’m a woodsy type of gal and this has pine and cedar tones reminding me of Christmas trees!

These soaps are wonderful – pampering, soothing, hydrating and also all natural. I am now adding them to my list of favorite things.
