Win $100 Amazon gc or Paypal Cash – King of Bad book blast!

August 2, 2013 By Debra Pearlstein Leave a Comment

King of Bad

King of Bad, Jeff Mean, would rather set fires than follow rules. He wears his bad boy image like a favorite old hoodie until he learns he has superpowers and is recruited by Super Villain Academy – where you learn to be good at being bad.

In a school where one kid can evaporate all the water from your body and the girl you hang around with can perform psychic sex in your head, bad takes on a whole new meaning! Jeff wonders if he’s bad enough for SVA. He may never find out.

Classmates vilify him when he develops good manners. Then he’s kidnapped by those closest to him and left to wonder who is really good and who is bad.

His rescue is the climactic episode that balances good and evil in the super world. The catalyst – the girl he’s crushing on. A girlfriend and balancing the Supers is good, right? Or is it…bad?

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Nutrisystem, Inc.. All opinions are 100% mine.

Would you like to lose weight and look fabulous this summer?

Nutrisystem has been helping America lose weight for over 40 years – and with Nutrisystem’s comprehensive program, they’ve remained at the forefront of the weight loss industry. I have not tried a weight loss program, but I do have friends who have tried Nutrisystem and really enjoyed it.

They appreciated Nutrisystem’s live counseling by phone or online, not having to physically go to the weight loss centers and being able to deal with their weight issues confidentially.

By delivering quality food and meal programs directly to each customer’s doorstep, Nutrisystem provides a convenient way to learn how to lose weight and live healthier. With over 150 perfectly portioned® entrees and snacks on the menu, there are lots of great options. They also offer vitamins, supplements, cookbooks and a host of other tools created to maximize successful weight loss.

Some of their dishes are Roast beef with mashed potatoes, Egg, cheese & bacon biscuits, Kung Pao Noodles and White chocolate hazelnut cookies. Those all sound good to me and don’t seem like deprivation at all – which you can feel with some restrictive programs.

In addition to all this, Nutrisystem has a wonderful sweeps going on right now.

To enter the Nutrisystem Fuel A Better You Sweepstakes, users can visit the sweepstakes tab on the Nutrisystem Facebook Page, fill out the entry form and press the enter button to submit their entry.

Finding Untold Potential in Custom Closets

July 22, 2013 By Debra Pearlstein 23 Comments

Go for a quick walk through your home. You can quickly remember what you had a hand in designing and what was there before your time. While your bedroom layout, the fabric of the sofas, and the arrangement of the dining room may demonstrate your eye for design and personality, certain elements of your home are left to their own devices. It is these oft-neglected areas that remain in a state of disrepair for months on end, serving only to consume your time and frustrate you with their lack of character and functionality. Sound like any place in your home?

Dealing with bare and simple closets may have felt like something you had to put up with, but not anymore. Approaching lingering disorganization head on can be made easy with the implementation of custom closets in your home. Going this route demonstrates your desire for efficiency and productivity, and will be another focal point of your home tours going forward. With the interiors lined with closet organization systems of your choosing, you’ll have fully mapped your home with an idea of where all of your belongings are.

source: californiaclosets.com

Consider how these specialized and unique interiors could benefit you. With a custom closet bolstering your storage capabilities in your living room, you’ll be able to safely pack or display your fine dining pieces in a manner that pleases you. You won’t have to relegate any items to your garage should you not want to!

Installing custom closets in the bedrooms of your children can also go a long way towards cutting down on messes around your home. Seeing as their interests and tastes change by the week, it seems, leaving their units adaptable will be extremely important. As they grow in and out of clothes, having specific areas where items belong will help you keep an inventory of their clothes and toys. When it comes time to pass them along, the process will be quick and easy.

Your home’s organizational success is completely dependent on your personal vision. Follow this trend of exploring every inch for maximum potential; every feature of your home as a way to show off your eye for style! Custom closets promote better habits while contributing to the canvas that you’ve been touching up since you moved in!

Hairstyles of the Ladies of Game of Thrones – A Tutorial

July 21, 2013 By Debra Pearlstein 9 Comments

A girl can never have too much fashion in her life. From clothes, to shoes, and most importantly, coming up with new hairstyles. No matter where you go, it seems that you always find someone doing something new and different with their hair. This can inspire you to try something you would never think about trying, too!

These hairstyles are often even based on favorite movies or time periods. Each time period had different hairstyles that were common back then, but are now exciting and very different. These days, the more unique, the better. It’s always great to try something new. The styles in this hair tutorial infographic are all fashioned after the styles of ladies and queens of the eminently popular Game of Thrones.

These women and their hairstyles are beautifully composed, but need to be sturdy enough to withstand the tough times ahead in Westeros–which is one reason why they work so well for the women of today, too! Most involve braids and with a practiced hand will take almost no time at all!

With these styles by Healthy Hair Plus, you’ll be looking like a fair maiden in no time!

July 15, 2013 By Debra Pearlstein 37 Comments

We’re having a heat wave here, but, time is flying, and I know the school year is just around the corner. That means school supplies, new shoes and clothes shopping!

We are lucky to have the Children’s Place nearby and it’s one of our favorite stores, but, even if you can’t just pop in, they have a wonderful website! What’s great is that you can order from the comfort of your home with a glass of iced tea in hand. The Children’s Place has some of the cutest school uniforms I’ve seen and the prices are very reasonable.

The girls’ selections are quite varied and range from casual to more dressy and I love the boys’ selections as well. They are trendy yet classic and your children will look super sharp.

For the girls, they have adorable pants, skirts, shorts and skorts as well as vests, hoodies, sweaters and all manner of beautiful shirts. I love the embellished knit blazer!

For the boys, polos, cardigans, Oxford shirts and more, along with shorts, chinos and cargo pants.

You’ll also find socks, shoes, belts, ties and backpacks, to make shopping easy.

The Children’s Place is sponsoring a fabulous giveaway where you can win a $500 gift card which will go a long way towards getting your children looking great from head to toe as they begin the next school year.

Finding Support for Fibromyalgia with the Help of Lifescript

July 3, 2013 By Debra Pearlstein 34 Comments

Tracking Pixel

This is a sponsored post by me on behalf of Lifescript.com.

When I was living in California, I had symptoms that I could not explain. Fatigue, muscle and joint pain, weakness. I was working and often came home feeling like I had been run over by a truck. I wasn’t sleeping at night, and even when I did sleep, I would wake up exhausted. When I looked in the mirror, I looked pale. I went to a doctor who had no idea what was going on, but, from a friend’s recommendation, I tried a new physician. She was incredibly kind and compassionate. She tested me for lupus, cancer, and a host of other frightening diseases.

The tests came back negative which was a blessing, but then she began pressing different trigger points to see if they were sensitive. I almost went through the ceiling. She asked a lot of good questions and spent time listening. She diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia Syndrome and made some suggestions.

Since then, and since moving to the Boston area, I found it difficult to explain to people. When they look at you, they can’t really see anything wrong so they have a hard time understanding. They think you look fine. That’s why this can be so frustrating and one of the reasons I searched online for helpful information and support for Fibromyalgia.

I have a good friend in Vermont with Fibro and we talk often about what’s going on. I completely understand it when she says she’s having a good or a bad day. My biggest challenges are not being able to do as much as I used to! I am so used to pushing through everything and just working my tail off to get things done – superwoman! But, since Fibro, I have learned that I have to budget my energy, that I can’t do everything I used to, and that when it’s time to rest, it’s really time to rest. If I overdo, there are flareups that are intense.

What I love about Lifescript.com is that they have a plethora of articles that address my needs and provide incredible support. For example, they have articles from the patient’s viewpoint, from doctors, nutritionists, and other health professionals. I found some delicious looking recipes that are geared towards those of us with Fibro that will help with energy and I can’t wait to try them.

On Lifescript.com,  I also learned some alternative therapies can help such as Acupuncture. I used to go and I am definitely going to go back. I read about how exercise is really important and especially some of my favorite types: Yoga and T’ai Chi. I read about the positive effects of reducing stress and meditating. While I can’t always follow the advice with a busy lifestyle, I am soaking all the information in like a sponge and know that I will be using this site as much as possible.

After all, one of the worst things about Fibromyalgia is the isolation, but with support and great information at the Lifescript.com Fibromyalgia Health Center, you really are not alone. With that knowledge, making some lifestyle changes, and realizing that you are not your illness, you can get through it! I have adapted my schedule, but I still live a full and happy life. You can too.
