Enter Sports Authority’s One Million Strong sweepstakes and win!

October 23, 2012 By Debra Pearlstein 12 Comments

I feel very lucky to have a Sports Authority store nearby. Any time we need sports clothing or equipment, that’s our first stop. I’ve also purchased some pretty cool Red Sox shirts, my favorite Diamondback bike and workout equipment there. With the holidays approaching, I know where I’ll be shopping online for my sports fanatic nephews.

Right now, Sports Authority is on a mission and you can join. As part of their “One Million Strong” sweepstakes, they’re giving away tons of prizes on their way to 1 million Facebook likes. For their next level, 100 lucky winners will receive Soybu leggings and capris!

What I love about Soybu is the care they put into their products, creating versatile, high-quality clothing that fits your lifestyle. Super comfortable and super flattering, they are great for yoga or any time you want to look and feel great.

The Soybu products will be awarded as soon as Sports Authority‘s Facebook page hits 750,000 likes, and more prizes will be awarded as the number of likes rise, giving you the chance to win even more great goodies! To learn more and enter now, simply visit the “One Million Strong” tab on Sports Authority‘s Facebook page!

Disclosure:  I received a gift card for my participation however all opinions herein are completely my own.

The Emerald Talisman Audio Book by Brenda Pandos
Read by Mary Morgan

You can run from
your destiny, but you can’t hide!

If for no other

reason than to help get through the hormonal rush of high school, 16-year-old Julia Parker would trade her ability to feel her fellow students’ emotions in a heartbeat, especially half the boys in  her class.
When the charming Nicholas uses his superhuman strength to rescue Julia from the edge of a cliff before she’s devoured by a bloodthirsty stalker, Julia is suddenly thrust into an underground world where people and animals are often one and the same.
Fellow high school students disappear and only Julia and Nicholas know the truth. While Nicholas, a vampire hunter, is out stopping the ever-expanding coven, an old friend seduces Julia to join him on the dark side and a psychic tells her that she alone is the key to stopping the madness. The problem is, it will require Nicholas’ life.

How To Monitor Your Home Computer – Win one of 20 Gecko Monitor Licenses

October 19, 2012 By Debra Pearlstein 9 Comments

How To Monitor Your Home Computer
There are a number of reasons that you may want to monitor your home computer. Especially if it’s the family computer that everyone uses. A teenager that’s meant to be doing homework or is using the computer when everyone’s gone to bed. A partner who you are having doubts about. Or even just young kids who you want to let loose on the internet but are worried about what they’ll see. All of these reasons call for the use of Computer Monitoring Software.

Computer Monitoring Software has been around for a long time and started out in the form of a simple keylogger. These programs would simply record every keystroke pressed on a computer and submit them to a log ready for someone to read back at a later date. These days, with all the multimedia and advancements of things like the internet, Computer Monitoring Software has to be a bit more complex.

But as complex as the workings behind the software are, the programs themselves are brilliantly easy to use. Download and installing the software usually takes a few minutes at the most and once it’s installed it’ll run completely silently in the background, without anyone knowing it’s running. Most Computer Monitoring Software won’t be seen anywhere in the start menu, tray, task manager or the add/remove programs and will be extremely well hidden in the hard drive, meaning even the most tech savvy of people won’t be able to find it.

When you run the program for the first time you’ll define a secret key combination and password that only you will know, so that only you can access the software in the future. You’ll use these details when you want to view the logs. The features of Computer Monitoring Software these days are brilliantly comprehensive and most programs out there will perform the following:

  • Will monitor and log all keystrokes pressed.
  • Will monitor and log all applications use.
  • Will monitor and log all websites visited.
  • Will monitor and log all files opened, saved, deleted etc.
  • Will monitor and log all printed documents.
  • Will take screenshots periodically of what’s on the screen.
  • Will email you the reports remotely.
  • Will monitor anything copied and pasted.

All of these features will include time and date stamps so that you can see exactly when a certain activity was undertaken. The emailed reports function usually comes in handy if you can’t get to the computer or you want to receive the reports at work. Simply enter your email address details and receive everything to your inbox!

If you are interested in Computer Monitoring Software with all of the features mentioned above,  Gecko Monitor is one of the leading monitoring applications on the market. If you’d like to see more and download a free trial head to Gecko Monitor.

And especially for the readers of this blog, we will be holding a giveaway for 20 licenses for the full version of Gecko Monitor!

Compatible with Windows 7, Vista, XP , 2000

TRAVEL Century21 Contest: Enter to win a 2-night stay in NYC and a $500 C21 wardrobe makeover!

October 19, 2012 By Debra Pearlstein 12 Comments

This post brought to you by CENTURY 21. All opinions are 100% mine.

Century_21_depart_red_on_white.jpg

I love fashion, but I don’t always love the high prices!

Century 21 is an amazing place to shop for high fashion at low prices. For over 50 years, they have been ‘the spot’ for New Yorkers and world-travelers as well! You can find great brands like Giorgio Armani, Marc Jacobs ( a personal favorite ), Valentino, and See by Chloe. You’ll also find Armani Jeans, Oscar de la Renta, Guess, DKNY and Calvin Klein all up to 65% off retail 100% of the time. That’s pretty amazing.

The next time I get a chance to visit NYC I’m hoping to check them out in person. Have you been there before? What are your favorite items to shop for?

Their two Manhattan store locations are Lincoln Square (1972 Broadway) and Downtown (22 Cortlandt Street). The Downtown Manhattan location has 150,000 square feet of shopping and each floor is filled with incredible fashion.

I became a C21Stores.com member for free. It’s super easy and you can find great designer, women’s and men’s clothes, boots, accessories and housewares.

I am loving this CLuce Peplum Dress. It retails for $104.00 and I can buy it for $39.97 in either black or a gorgeous scarlet red, saving 62%.

Other items I’d love to buy are these Hot Steve Madden Black Studded Ternn Boots

and these gorgeous snake skinny pants!

You’ll also want to check out the fabulous Empire Hotel sweepstakes for a chance to win a $500 C21 wardrobe makeover and a two-night stay at the iconic Empire Hotel in NYC!  I’ve entered on Facebook and it’s super easy.

New merchandise comes in all the time, so there’s always something new to check out. Many celebrities love to shop here. Stop in and you might see Kim Kardashian, Olivia Palermo, Stacy Keibler, or Lindsay Lohan.

Valentina Goldman’s Immaculate Confusion – Win $100 Amazon GC or Paypal Cash!

October 18, 2012 By Debra Pearlstein Leave a Comment

Title: Valentina Goldman’s Immaculate Confusion
Author: Marisol Murano
Publisher: Hipso Media
Released: August 1, 2012

Since she arrived in the United States from Venezuela, Valentina Goldman isn’t exactly living the American Dream. In fact, she’s living the American Nightmare!

Her late husband, Max, has left her as a young widow with a step-daughter she didn’t want, and a bi-polar ex-wife. And oh, having given up her dream job in New York, Valentina is also stuck and unemployed in Arizona.

Part “Bridget Jones Diary,” part “Modern Family,” “Valentina Goldman’s Immaculate Confusion” is the story of a woman trying to get a handle on her crazy life in America. In breathless, blog-like snippets, Valentina compares her  story with that of her eccentric sister, Azucena, who is having bizarre troubles of her own down in the tropics.

“Valentina Goldman’s Immaculate Confusion” is a funny and touching story about what happens when a passionate South American woman moves to the USA, and, like so many of us, ends up with a life she never imagined.

About Author Marisol Murano

When she was 18, Marisol Murano moved to the United States to attend school so that afterwards she could return to her native Venezuela, get married and have kids. None of this happened. Instead, she ended up getting a Master’s degree which eventually landed her a boring job in an exciting city: New York.

After a few years of the corporate rat race, Marisol woke up one day to discover, “Even if you win the race, you’re still a rat.” That was the end of her banking career and the birth of her first novel: The Lady, The Chef, and The Courtesan.

Marisol was the first to be surprised when her first novel was  Latino Book of the Year, Original Voices from Border’s and was also picked as a BookSense selection. She was further surprised when it was then translated into several languages.

A second career detour led her to become a chef and also the author of a cookbook, Deliciously Doable Small Plates from Around the World. Between novels, Chef Marisol now travels the world conducting culinary demonstrations about exotic cuisine. In fact, Valentina Goldman’s Immaculate Confusion was born at sea in a split-second of confusion when during a culinary demonstration a woman raised her hand to ask: “Did you always know you wanted to be a chef?”

Life is stranger than fiction, indeed.

You can purchase Valentina Goldman’s Immaculate Confusion at different locations here!
