Peapod Makes Food Shopping Convenient – A Review

July 5, 2012 By Debra Pearlstein 43 Comments

If you’re anything like me, you have a to-do list that is pretty long and something that always needs to get done. It’s hard to find time to relax, but Peapod really makes this easier.

My sister and I  have both been using Peapod for quite a while. It’s great when you need things but simply don’t have time to shop or when there are other things you would like to do rather than stand in line at the grocery store!

The site is user-friendly and simple to navigate. I can virtually go down the aisles and pick out whatever I need in whatever flavor I want. I always check their specials first to see what is on sale. They have good ones often, for example, this week they have Tropicana OJ, fresh bing cherries, wild salmon filets, sweet corn and Klondike bars all on sale. I really love the specials!

Peapod does carry many popular and store brands as well as organic and gluten-free items, however, they don’t carry every specialty item, like that one flavor of Talenti Gelato your family just loves! And, I’m one who likes to pick out fresh produce when I can, so I often alternate between Peapod and going myself. I feel the prices are good but prefer to shop their sale items when possible. They have a great selection of sale items each week.

I think Peapod is great for bulk orders, for paper goods, for specials, for general shopping, for times when the weather is too hot or too cold, or when you just need a break. It’s also great if you want to order heavy items that you don’t want to lug around. They bring everything in for you.

I feel that the delivery charge is reasonable considering how much time I get to save for other things, and I’d rather work out at the gym than run up and down the aisles at the grocery store then wait while they do price checks or someone can’t find their lost credit card. And, as the saying goes, ‘time is money’.

You choose the window of time you want your order delivered, and as long as someone is home, that’s fine. You can even save money if they will already be in that area.

They also now have Peapod mobile and you can shop on your iPad, smartphone, or Kindle!

My sister works full-time and it has been a great time-saver for her as well. With two growing boys that eat her out of house and home, it’s perfect.

So, if you’re interested, check out Peapod and see if they deliver in your area.

You can also check out Peapod Coupon Codes here for added savings.

Disclosure: I received a Peapod gift card to facilitate my review, however all opinions expressed herein are strictly my own.

This seems like a great idea. I’m always low on time w/ grad school, full-time blogging and running a business from my home. I’ll check them out.

I use Amazon Fresh a couple of times a week and LOVE it. I have time to shop but they have a much better selection than my store. Now you’ve got me wondering if we have PeaPod up here….I’ll have to check it out! Thanks so much!

I’ll have to check this out as my favorite store that used to deliver stopped and I LOVE getting groceries delivered. It was a God send the weeks after I had my son.

This would be wonderful for someone that has a hard time leaving the house for any reason. I love going to the grocery store myself. It’s like therapy for me.

When my son was in college up in Rhode Island, I’d order his groceries online from Peapod and have them delivered every week. Great service.

My neighbors use a shopping service from a local grocery store similar to this, it would be great for busy moms who have zero time for shopping!

I have never heard of Peapod shopping before. Our area has 1 or 2 I believe. I have never personally used them but friends of mine have when they were to busy to take the time to shop. This is nice that they carry organic and gluten free products too. Thanks for the review on them
