Gmail Addresses Hacked – Check to see if yours may be one of them

September 11, 2014 By Debra Pearlstein 10 Comments

So many of us use Gmail these days. I’ve been using it for years. When I read that 5 million Gmail addresses and passwords were leaked and appeared on a Russian Bitcoin forum Wednesday, September 10th, I was definitely concerned.

One thing to do is to change your password immediately, make it better, stronger and use two-step authentication.

If you want to see if there is a chance your account may be affected, type it in this Security Alert checker.

Keep yourself and your info safe.

By the way, it did say my info may have been compromised.

My email was compromised a few years ago when Sony got hacked. It is so annoying, and was a pain to deal with. Hope yours isn’t too big a problem.

Says mine may have been – but Google is playing this one down, they said they’d notify people directly if there had been an actual breach, and so far I haven’t been notified 😉 Of course I still changed my password to be safe.
