Optimize Your Chances of Conceiving with The Stork OTC

November 16, 2016 By Debra Pearlstein 18 Comments

This is a sponsored conversation from Mums the Word Network and The Stork OTC. All opinions are my own.

One of my best friends from college has always wanted children, but she and her husband have had problems conceiving. This has been heartbreaking for her. Since learning about The Stork OTC, I have been able to share important information with her as well as encouragement. Now, she has a new and valuable noninvasive tool that she can purchase over the counter at her pharmacy and that she and her husband can explore privately in their own home.

The journey to parenthood can be difficult, particularly if you’re one of the 7.3 million couples in the U.S. having trouble conceiving. If you’re not experiencing difficulty, you most likely know someone who is. Fertility troubles are not uncommon. Did you know that infertility in men is on the rise? Using the Stork OTC at home can be a help to many common male infertility diagnoses.

Going to a specialist can become very costly and put undue stress on a couple and on their financial budget. Not only that, but, wouldn’t it be great to be able to try an established and effective conception technique in the privacy of your own home with your partner?

The StorkOTC is a drug-free conception device that offers a relaxed, more personal way of conceiving at-home using new technology based on cervical cap insemination. It’s a helpful option that puts you in control, and is widely available over-the-counter.

newstork2

The first and only conception assistance device to meet the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s strict requirements and be cleared for over-the-counter sales, without a prescription, The Stork OTC is the product of years of meticulous design and testing.

Clinical data published in the journal Surgery Technology International demonstrates that TheStork OTC is more effective at delivering sperm to the cervix than natural intercourse.

If needed, the Stork OTC can also be used with donor sperm, supporting pathways to parenthood for all couples.

How wonderful that our society is evolving and there are so many more options for parenthood these days. The Stork OTC is also a useful conception aid for LGBT couples, individuals with certain disabilities and single women.

The Stork OTC is a very sensible first step before trying costly, invasive procedures, and can help provide hope for millions of couples struggling to conceive. Whether you are just starting on your journey to parenthood or have been trying for longer, let The Stork OTC optimize your chances of conceiving.

Hope is a priceless commodity!

Please join us at the Stork OTC Twitter party on November 29 at 8pm EST and participate with hashtag #becomingadad to learn more and win some amazing prizes.

Fun New Educational Apps for your Kids Inspire Creative Play! Introducing #DumbWaysJR

June 10, 2016 By Debra Pearlstein 21 Comments

This post is sponsored by Dumb Ways JR and The Motherhood, but all opinions herein are mine.

Open-ended play allows our children to discover, to wander, to dream! It is the doorway to the imagination. We can provide the foundation, but also leave the windows open.

Dumb Ways to Die began in 2012 as a public service announcement by Metro Trains in Australia. It was a campaign designed to promote railroad safety, and safety in general. Its inspiration is that people often pay more attention when learning is presented in fun, unique and interesting ways. The PSA video with its insanely catchy theme song soon became an internet sensation through social media and sharing.  Since then, Metro Trains Melbourne’s Dumb Ways to Die apps have celebrated a combined 200 million downloads!

Kids and adults alike have taken to the Dumb Ways characters, but, before they grew up, these silly guys were already making mischief in all sorts of places – in kitchens, planes, trains and more!

Check out Dumb Ways JR!

Dumb Ways JR is a brand-new educational platform for younger kids, aged 3-7 (though older kids love it too!). Recently released, now you can be one of the first families to explore the new apps which are similar to those for older kids but without any gore.

Two new Dumb Ways JR apps are currently available on Apple and Android devices.

Dumb Ways JR Boffo’s Breakfast focuses on teaching young kids about safety while cooking and encourages creativity and role-play fun. In this game, Boffo’s hungry and you’re the chef so it’s time to make him breakfast! Our 6-year old loved cooking up some delicious and not so yummy creations and watching Boffo’s reaction, from smiles and claps to grimaces when he ate a plate full of fish and toothpaste! The open-ended play gave her the chance to experiment and learn and the music kept her entertained while she waited with me for a doctor’s appointment.

This game is wonderful for so many reasons! It fans the fires of your children’s imagination without being too complicated. Kids interact with the game by tapping, stirring, mixing and swiping. This really allows their own creativity to grow and flourish as they create endless food mash-ups for their silly hungry new friend. It also subtly reinforces the lessons we teach them in our own kitchens, such as how to stay safe and not get burned.

The second app we downloaded was Dumb Ways JR Loopy’s Train Set which was my daughter’s second favorite.

This game has two modes – Drive and Build – with three different levels in each mode, making it great for both younger and older kids. With the same adorable characters, it allows kids and families to explore how trains work, creating their own narratives as they help passengers board and exit the train. In Build mode, the children create their own tracks and can add houses, trees and animals. My daughter loved the train whistle. In fact, all the animations and sound effects are wonderful.

Both games have a For Parents button which is very helpful and insightful and both re-inforce the message of safety in a fun and engaging way.

There are also two more adventures coming from Dumb Ways JR, so be on the lookout! I would tell you more, but, I don’t want to spill the beans. Besides, then, someone might trip on them. 😀

Why not download the apps now. They’re ad-free and inexpensive with no in-app purchases.

My Resolution for the New Year – Be Kind to Yourself!

January 6, 2013 By Debra Pearlstein 34 Comments

Resolutions – Be Kind to Yourself

Though it is my goal not to make resolutions this year, perhaps this is one I will try to keep, be kind to yourself.

Bascially, all the things I would resolve to do are already things I am trying to do – eat healthier, exercise more, get more organized, save more money.

Funny thing I’ve found about resolutions. When you’re feeling good, they are easy to keep. When life, as it inevitably does, adds stress, they become harder. I suppose those are the times that challenge us – to keep the resolutions even through the hard times.

But, I’ve been through a very hard year. I have lost someone very very dear to me, perhaps the most dear.

That has set into motion a chain of events that have been extremely painful and stressful. Unfortunately, stress has a way of kicking everything into overdrive – including any physical problems like fibromyalgia.

There is no way out of certain things. For me, the only way is to try to stay in the present moment as much as possible and take things one step at a time. Try to find support in whatever way you can, whether that be through friends, family or faith.

Looking at everything all at once becomes too overwhelming and really is self-defeating in many ways for me. Just one step at a time.

And above all, be kind to yourself, love yourself, give yourself a break. There is another side to all this, focus on that. Think of how good you will feel and focus on the positive.

I write this for myself and for anyone going through anything similar. Sometimes the best resolution is to be kind to ourselves.

I wish everyone a wonderful 2013!
